Phineas Upham has lived and worked in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and San Francisco. After growing up in New York City, where he attended Collegiate High School, he went to Harvard University where he studied philosophy with Robert Nozick. His thesis focused on the interplay between epistemology and pragmatism. After graduation, he worked at startups and as a journalist for Toronto's National Post then wrote a nationally syndicated column for UPI. After attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School, Upham worked at Morgan Stanley before joining a hedge fund / family office focused on global macro and illiquid investing.
