Founded in 1787, the Pennsylvania Prison Society is the oldest criminal justice reform organization in the United States. Its mission is to advocate for and provide initiatives that promote a humane, just and constructive correctional system while maintaining public safety. The Prison Society is unique in that it is the only state-wide organization that exists solely to advocate on behalf of criminal justice reform and the humane treatment of prisoners.
