Career Summary
As a result of a variety of roles within the Science Museum Group over 32 years, I have accumulated
extensive strategic, management and operational experience and expertise in the stewardship, care,
management and use of collections (particularly in mixed- format visual media and collections);
research; community and volunteer engagement; digital asset management and exhibitions.
I have significant expertise at a senior level managing museum and heritage collections of international,
national and local pre-eminence, and leading innovative projects and programmes which have had
genuine diverse and broad audience and community impact and engagement.
Throughout the years, I have developed an extensive network of professional contacts encompassing
areas of curatorship and the media disciplines, particularly in photography, filmand television, as well
as working closely with numerous institutions in the cultural sector at all levels - local authority,
nationals, independents etc.
My skills set also encompasses museological policy development – over sustained period I have
developed, implemented and monitored many policies, including acquisition and disposal; conservation
and collections care; access; digitisation etc.
As part of a senior management team, business planning and budgetary management which has
supported the exploitation and maximisation of social, cultural and learning potential of the Group’s
collections to meet strategic priorities and agreed targets.
