In the context of the Biathlon World Championship in Hochfilzen – winter 2005 the tourist office Pillerseetal in cooperation
with Tyrol and the European Union established the BIATRON – a singular snow experience!
The BIATRON – a 1.5 hectar large area, defined of two hundred meters, 3.5 meters high snow walls. A fantastic snow world
with highly experimental architectural installations is constructed inside.
The outstanding element of the BIATRON is the futuristic dome, the largest snowball of the world. Filled with every kind of
electronic equipment it is used as a café, a meeting centre and of course as an event hall.
Beside this gigantic snowball, which stands as symbol for concentrated winter pleasure, the area offers a magic world from
ice and snow, light and sound, play and fun with simple but effect full multimedia produc- tions.
The BIATRON embodied however not only the desire at the subject „snow“, it connects the material with the perceptible and
joyful experience to an unusual manifestations, magic moments and above all a new, creative idea, in order to inspire winter
guests from all world for the Pillerseetal.
