Purpose-
The purpose of this project is to optimize Dollarama's supply chain and logistics approach to strengthen
its competitive advantages, ensure cost efficiency, maintain a diverse product range, and uphold
responsible sourcing practices. By enhancing these areas, Dollarama will continue to provide compelling
value to its customers, improve customer satisfaction, and support its ambitious long-term goal of
reaching 2,000 store locations in Canada by 2031.

Poster Title: Optimizing Efficiency and Growth: Dollarama's Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Introduction: We investigated Dollarama's logistics and supply chain management in this project to
better understand the variables that contribute to its performance as a prominent Canadian bargain
retailer with over 1548 locations. Our goal was to investigate how Dollarama's effective supply chain and
logistics tactics enabled the company to offer a diverse range of low-cost products while retaining
industry-leading margins. This study intends to provide significant insights into the critical role of supply
chain management in increasing retail business competitiveness.
Key Deliverables of our project and how we achieved it:
1. Efficient Supply Chain and Logistics Management at Dollarama: Direct sourcing and a diverse
supplier base enable broad product offers while preserving cost-efficiency and industry-leading
margins.

3. 2. Supply Chain Structure that is Well-Coordinated: Effective supplier management and data-driven
stock optimization enable ideal stock levels and centralized warehousing, as well as efficient
transportation, with rail being prioritized for environmental benefits.
3. Dollarama's competitive edge: It stems from diverse sourcing, centralized distribution, and an
emphasis on product compliance and safety, as well as cost-effectiveness, product diversity,
environmental awareness, and great customer service.
4. Overcoming Obstacles: Dollarama can consider diversifying sourcing locations, optimizing supply
chain operations, implementing cost-cutting measures, investing in workforce management, and
leveraging technology for efficiency improvements to address potential obstacles such as supply

with efficient inventory control and bulk purchasing, whereas Dollarama distinguishes itself with
a varied product variety and smart pricing techniques.
6. Emphasizing the Importance of Supply Chain Management: Efficient supply chain and logistics
management play a critical role in boosting the competitiveness of Canadian firms by meeting
consumer expectations, decreasing costs, minimizing waste, and quickly reacting to market
conditions.
How we achieved this:
 To comprehend Dollarama's supply chain and logistics management, we did extensive
research, analyzing business data and industry insights.
 We evaluated the efficacy of their procurement processes and direct sourcing strategies
by interviewing key stakeholders and evaluating cost structures.
 Direct information from Dollarama's logistics team and distribution centres assisted us in
understanding their well-coordinated supply chain structure, which included data-driven
inventory optimization and environmentally friendly transportation methods.
 We found crucial areas contributing to Dollarama's competitive edge through in-depth
examinations of sourcing tactics, distribution centres, and customer service metrics.
