I am an expatriate Brit. Born in Gloucestershire (pr. "Gloster"), grew up in Maesteg and later in Calne, both very old places (Maesteg is Bronze age, Calne is pre-Celtic). Later in London, Edinburgh, Colchester (another old place, still has its Roman wall), Geneva (another: pre-Roman), Rochester (NY), Palo Alto (CA), Champaign-Urbana (IL), then finally Pensacola, which is as old as one can get in the new USA.
