1. German School of Fremont Offers ‘German For Tourists’ one-semester course
World Cup fans to get extra kick out of the World Cup this summer
The German School of Fremont, a Saturday morning German language school for
children and adults, is pleased to announce the formation of a new class, “German For
Tourists.” The class begins January 21 at Kennedy High School in Fremont. This one-
semester course will prepare students with basic vocabulary, phrases, reading and
pronunciation helpful for people who are planning a trip to Germany.
German tourism is expected to experience an enormous boost this summer, as millions of
soccer fans worldwide converge to the twelve German cities that are hosting the 2006
World Cup. The class offered by the German School of Fremont will prepare fans—and
non-soccer fan tourists—negotiate the streets, transportation systems, hotels, restaurants,
shops, ticket agents and more, and also provide some insight into the modern Germany of
the 21st Century.
Registration for this class begins at 9:00 a.m. at Kennedy High School in Fremont. New
students will be accepted for three weeks following the 21st. Tuition for the entire
semester is $175 per student, with discounts available for families.
The German School of Fremont, in continuous operation since 1963, offers four levels of
children’s courses as well as four levels of adult courses in addition to this new, special
course. The school takes pride in its native-speaking teachers and curriculum designed
for busy lives.
