The Brazilian Karate Federation, under the auspices of the Pan American Karate Federation, invites national federations affiliated with the PKF to participate in the XXX Adult Pan American Karate Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from May 26-28, 2016. The event will take place at the School of Physical Education of the Army and have categories for individual kumite, team kumite, individual kata, and team kata. Registration is $80 per athlete and must be completed online by the specified dates. Medals will be awarded to first, second, and two third place finishers.

KARATE FEDERATION
Invites
All the National Federations affiliated to the Panamerican Karate Federation (P.K.F) to
participate in the
XXX Adult Panamerican Karate Championship Rio 2016.
PLACE AND DATE
School of Physical Education of the Army located at Av. Joao Luis Alves s/n-Urca, Rio de
Janeiro RJ 16, Brazil , on May 26, 27 and 28, 2016.
PARTICIPANTS
All national federations which are member of the Panamerican Karate Federation (PKF) are
eligible to participate.
INSCRIPTIONS
The details for on-line registration will be sent shortly.
COSTS OF INSCRIPTION
The costs of the inscriptions will be paid to the Treasurer of the P.K.F. in registrationaccording
to the dates set in the program. The registration fee will be US$ $80 per athlete.
2. MEDAL AWARDING
There will be medals for first, second and two third places.
WEIGHING
Weighing will take place on May 25. The unofficial weighing will be held at the headquarters
hotel between 07:00 and 08:00. The official weighing will be held from 08:00 to 10.00 in the
Headquarters Hotel.

INDIVIDUAL KUMITE
A maximum of 2 athletes per country in each weight category.
TEAM KUMITE
Up to 1 team per country per category can participate.
INDIVIDUAL KATA
Máximo de (2) atletas por país y por cada categoría.
KATA EQUIPOS
A maximum of 2 athletes per country in each weight category.
COMPETITION
The competition will be held on 3 tatamis, while warming up areas will also be set up.
TEAMS TRAININGS
These will be held on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 at the Hotel Headquarters and/or another
place yet to be determined. These trainings should be reserved in advance with prior
appointment and will be scheduled from Monday May 23rd
in the Headquarters Hotel.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
The Organizing Committee will be responsible for first aid medical service in the competition
venue as well as during the transfers - if necessary – in case of medical attention or
hospitalization, this will be covered by the compulsory insurance of U$S 10, paid for each
athlete to the PKF.
The National Federation that does not pay the insurance must submit a proof of having a special
insurance, with them having their own sole responsibility to all their medical care outside the
competition venue. They must also sign the corresponding waiver from responsibility.
3. TRANSPORTATION
In order to guarantee transportation from the airport to the official hotel where the delegations
will stay the respective federation must send to the Organizing Committee, at least 15 days in
before May 23, 2016 arrival date of their delegation, which must include, the amount of people,
date of arrival, flight number and time of arrival. All arrivals and departures should be
coordinated in such way that the respective delegation arrives as a team, if a delegation arrives
scattered then the respective person(s) must wait until the next available transport is leaving the
airport.
The Organizing Committee is not responsible for the transportation of those delegations that do
not report their arrival at least 15 days in advance, nor for the delegations that are not staying
in the Official Hotels of the event.
The Transport Hotel-Competition venue-Hotel, will depart only from the Official Hotels
as informed by the Organizing Committee.
CLINICS
All clinics (trainings0 will be held at the Headquarters Hotel and/or in the Colosseum Eduardo
Dibós, in the days marked in the program.
