A charity raising awareness of Poland Syndrome a rare birth defect. Cause is currently unknown. It is estimated 2-3 babies are born every month in UK with Poland Syndrome. Poland Syndrome can has many variations. Typically a baby is born with one uniquely formed hand (fingers may we webbed, joined or absent) and the chest on the same side may have missing muscles or ribs. Poland Syndrome is 75% more common in boys than girls. Poland Syndrome is also known as Poland's Syndrome, Poland's Anomaly, Poland Sequence and Poland Syndactyly, Due to the rarity of Poland Syndrome it is often not diagnosed.
