The document describes Stone Bathwear's quality control procedure that uses QR codes and RFID chips to store digital information about each bathroom pod. Key information such as production phases, technical specifications, quality control results, and photos are stored on the chip. This allows supervisors to check the production status and sign off on phases. The proposed solution is to create a tool that exports all this digital data to a format like HTML, generating a "mini website" for each bathroom pod that contains all relevant information and documents for quality control and production tracking over time.
2. D-0124 PORTONOVI - Digital Quality Control Procedure
QUALITY PLAN AND TECHNICAL DATA SHEET RELATING TO A SINGLE BATHROOM,
ALL STORED ON QR CODE AND CHIP
Introduction
Stone Bathwear Quality control system is computerized. All the procedures and the quality sheet
presented on the quality plan folder (ref.13.6a Quality Plan Stone Bathwear) are in digital format.
Each of the Stone Bathwear bathroom pod are provided to a rfid chip and bar code that
once are scanned give to the quality control supervisor the current status of the pod and the
phase to check and sign off. Prior to this check each foreman opens and closes the production
phase of the pod he is currently working on. On this way, the next worker can proceed with the
next operation.
The data information stored on the chip of a single bathroom produced by Stone Bathwear are:
• pod personal data (Bathroom pod name, description,
location on the building, design drawings reference, chip
code)
• manufacturing phases (phase date, description, used
materials, operator)
• technical data sheet of the used materials.
• technical data sheet of every single item used on the plumbing, electrical and
mechanical system of each pod.
• maintenance guide of the pod and MEP system
• supervision and QC (quality control date, test type, result, operator, possible supervision
when applicable, photos taken during the control phase)
• pictures of the hidden area (waterproofing, technical compartment)
• PDF documents relating to suppliers, certifications, etc….
Inside the chip applied on the bathroom pod there is a hexadecimal code, which identifies the
product unequivocally. This code is reported on SBW software and allows an unequivocal
identification. We will provide the client a set of unmodifiable information, which describe the
delivered bathroom. This information in digital format will need to be available in the future without
any time limits.
Proposed solution for MLC_D0124 PORTONOVI:
Creation of a tool which can export all the above-mentioned information onto
a digital support as for example CD-ROM or a compressed file (.Zip .Rar …)
3. This tool will contain all information relating to a single bathroom and will then export all data in
HTML format by creating automatically a folder which will include all the HTML relating to a SINGLE
bathroom.
For each single bathroom a dedicated “mini web site” will be created which will be available on
any internet browser (IE, Google Chrome, Firefox) simply by clicking on the file index.html. The main
contractor and the final client can check the production every time.
The home page will show the SBW logo, bathroom registration and a browsing menu with all
manufacturing phases.
