-Pencil on Fabriano Board
A common theme in my work is the
interaction and destruction of culture by
technology.
I’ve found music to be one of the outlets
of revealing our truest selves. Where the
lyrics perfectly describe the emotions
inscribed on our hearts, a melody that
makes us reminisce about the moment
when we felt the most alive, a hymn that
brings us closer to our Creator or an beat
that makes us dance our cares away.
Music is our culture.
3. As much as culture can be a powerful presence
in an African child’s life, technology and the
influences that come with it seems to be
becoming the new tradition

-Pencil and Acrylic Paint on
Fabriano Board
With this piece I try to question the African
man’s identity. Is it imbedded in the culture
(represented by the Ndebele patterns) or the
drowning (blue) ever presence of the Western
world and its technologies (fading circuit board)
and its cultural attendance of the 9-5
(headsets).
