Editor's Notes

  • #2 Hi everyone, today we are going to present one of the most popular buses to do tourism in a city. The first bus hop on hop off started in 1991 in London. Since then, the idea spread through the most important cities in the world; nowadays thousands of cities have hop on hop off services.
  • #3 There are lot of diferent kinds of buses, all of them actually integrate the landscape of the cities. The service is called hop-on-hop-off because the tourist pay an unlimited travel for a day (or other period of time) with the freedom to disembark at any stop and reboard another bus to continue their journey. Also referred to as “step on step off.” The tourists have the freedom to choose the places and the time of visit.
  • #4 Continuing with the characteristic of the service in the largest cities there is more than one route and there are many companies operating ,. Some companies allow tourist to ride any route from any stop at any time with there tickets.
  • #5 In Argentina the service hop on hop off started in The city of Buenos Aires in 2009. Nowadays Salta, Mendoza, Tigre, La Plata and Cordoba already have a hop-on hop off sightseeing buses.
  • #6 Now we’d like to show you the city tour bus in Buenos Aires. As you can see in this slide, there are 2 circuits: one is blue and red and the other is Green. The service has comfortable and modern double decker buses with convertible roof. Also all buses are fully equipped with an audio guide system in 10 languages, allowing you to listen to a short description of every place of interest in Buenos Aires, as well as some interesting anecdotes about some of its streets and famous places.
  • #7 The Blue/Red circuit has 25 stops. The bus route begins in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires, a few meters from Mayo Square . You can get on at whatever stop you prefer and begin your tour. The first Stop is numer 0 and it is in Diagonal Norte; the last stop is numer 24, at Colón Theatre. The blue route goes to Congress Square, San Telmo and La Boca neighbourhood; then it returns to Costanera Sur, Madero Portside and finishes in Pacific Galleries. The red route starts in 9 de Julio Avenue and goes to Palermo and Recoleta.
  • #8 This route has 11 stops and takes about 1 hour 20 minutes. It begins at the Malba museum, one of the most important art museums in the city of Buenos Aires. The routes explore some of the parks and Green areas in Buenos Aires, like Palermo Woods, and some of the most important sites related to Argentinian sports: Campo Argentino de Polo and River Plate football stadium.
  • #9 Both tours can be done with the same ticket. Buses run every 20-30 minutes, from 9am to 7 pm, calling at 33 stops. You can buy a 24-hour or 48-hour ticket on line, valid for both circuits, at stop 0 or on board the bus itself. Buenos Aires Bus is an easy and convenient way to see the city´s main sites and landmarks over one or two days.
  • #10 Now that we have explored the offer we would like to move on to the reviews of the service in Trip Advisor. According to the graph we can see that 69% of the people who took the bus think that the service is a good option to visit a large city like BA. On the other hand 31% of users say that the service was poor or terrible, some of them say that the guides didn´t have the skills needed to offer an excellent service. The employees didn´t know the routes, they didn’t have good communication skills. Also the driver used the cell phone while he was driving.
  • #11 Despite of the negative reviews , in this slide we present our reasons why Hop On Hop Off are worthwhile. You get a great overview of a city and are especially useful if you are only in town for a couple of days. It is a relaxing experience, people from all ages are able to do it,even for children and elderly people. The audioguide with relevant information is essential, also they are offered in a number of languages And the most important characteristic is that you are free to choose the time and the places that you would like to visit.
  • #12 Finally we would like to ask a question and share your experience…………….. In adition we have a proposal for everyone Would be a great idea to enjoy this experince together, obviously with english audioguide!!!
