MP as teaching tool
1. What we teach?
• Celestial sphere and constellations
• Apparent motion of celestial objects
• Earth rotation
• Solar system – planet zoom
• Nebulas, M objects - zoom
• Deep sky objects (HST images) - zoom

MP as teaching tool
2. How we teach?
• In correlation with existing teaching units, terms and concepts
• Following the official education plan and program
• Lectures are age appropriate
• We use interactive and conversation method rather than monologue
• We ask the questions all the time
• We give guide lines for further astronomy education (suggest
stationary Planetarium and Public Observatory visit, suggest books)
• In cooperation and consultation with subject teachers

3. When we teach?
During regular school classes of:
• Geography
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Biology
• IT classes
• Painting classes
• Literature classes
• English classes
• Sport classes
• Music classes

4. Why we teach?
• To increase Universe awareness (among kids and their teachers)
• To increase natural science teaching subjects correlation
• To increase scientific knowledge
• To encourage further scientific research
• To initiate problem solving
• To make kids appreciate knowledge
• To bring kids joy of learning and discovery
• To enjoy
11. Time
Research
Hypothesis: natural science teaching subjects correlation
could be significantly increased in MP teaching; Universe
awareness (among kids and their teachers) increases;
Interest in further scientific research increases among kids;
Schoolchildren appreciate knowledge.
Implication: Inovation in
planning, organisation
and realization of
teaching process with MP
Conclusion: MP is helpful teaching tool
Testing hypothesis:

22. MP Technical dificulties
• The dome (balloon) is tearing apart
(4 sewing repairs for 1 year of work)
• The projector is within its last few hours of work
(5 hardware repairs and still in the testing process for the
following school year 2014/15)
• There are no appropriate transporting conditions (private cars only)
• Financial support for this activity doesn’t exist – ASRB has lost
support of city government in February 2011
• Working condition (if MP is functional) are far under standards
(high fan noise, 5-10 projections per day, driving, equipment
installation and reinstallation – often in the same day)
