- The core of MyUniversity will be [email_address] , which will be customized to fit the higher education environment. In addition, several existing components will be integrated to provide a complete solution with a much higher potential and the capability of fulfilling the higher education environment participation needs. Pnyx is an advanced eConsultation platform that has been designed to carry out citizen consultations, referendums, surveys etc. with the highest levels of security availably. It will be integrated into MyUniversity in order to allow each university to carry out “serious” consultations that guarantee that the participants are relevant stakeholders and that the results cannot be manipulated. A single sign-on technique will be used to seamlessly integrate Pnyx’s back office with the platform, so the consultations can be managed from the same administration menu as the rest of the MyUniversity platform. The same approach will be used to allow university members and stakeholders to access the eConsultations, meaning that if they have already logon to the e-Participation portal they can access the consultation directly without having to authenticate themselves again in a totally transparent way. Security module: The integration of this security module will allow MyUniversity to authenticate users by means of Digital Certificates and trace all the actions carried out by the platform users. Advanced portal generation module: This module allows easily managing a large number of portals on different structural levels on the same platform. It is a specific component that was developed for the Consensus project and will be integrated with MyUniversity through the use of existing APIs, allowing each end-user university’s portal to be easily generated and hosted on the same platform and servers. This approach will enable creating a super EU level portal that encompasses all the member states participating in the project, as well as a portal for each end-user university. Each portal will have its own look and feel, participation tools, and back-office. However the university portals will be linked to the EU level in a way that allows them to publish content on both their university portal and the EU level superportal. The portal generation will be carried out by a superadministrator from an extremely simple user interface thus drastically reducing the timeframe needed to deploy new university participation portals. Facebook: In order to maximise the number of university stakeholders that use MyUniversity we propose to carry out integration with the social network Facebook. Facebook allows users to create and join different groups that are related to as many topics as the imagination of the users allow. Universities can create their own groups or join groups that are related to topics which they find interesting. Many of these groups attract a large number of university stakeholders that are very active in the corresponding topic. The integration of Facebook with MyUniversity will allow information published on university’s e-Participation portal to appear on the Facebook groups mentioned above. Automatic translation module: MyUniversity will integrate a module that will be capable of translating the entire portal's content, so when users from different countries access the portal, they will be able to see its information in any language. The platform will be multilingual.
