who currently appears as a frequent guest on
the Rick Amato Show. Morgan Brittany also
spends time supporting a number of charitable
organizations such as the Wounded Warriors
Project and the Gary Sinise Foundation. She
also appears at conventions across the country
raising awareness on behalf of veterans.
CNN recently stepped in on behalf of the
Wounded Warriors Project after the U.S.
Department of Defense passed a rule that
reduced the organization’s funding by $22
million.
3. The cutbacks had been designed to target
excessive travel by Wounded Warriors
Project employees, though the
organization’s Non-medical Attendant
(NMA) program was inadvertently put at
risk. Under the new rule, friends and family
caring for injured veterans would only
receive 55 percent reimbursement after six
months on the job, despite many Wounded
Warriors requiring care for much longer
than half a year.
4. Concerned about losing his NMA services,
one Wounded Warrior reached out to CNN.
After the news network brought the issue to
the Pentagon, the Department of Defense
reviewed and adjusted the new rules so
that NMAs would continue to receive their
full reimbursements. The Pentagon’s
response and subsequent actions took just
one week. Any NMAs already affected by
budget cuts would also receive full
reimbursement.
