Opinion and Learnings
In my opinion the movie “Pursuitof Happyness”is one which should be
watched by everyone at least once in their lives. If you are feeling low and feel
the world is against you, this is the type of therapy and mentorship you need in
your life to think that all is not gloom and doom and there’s always a way if you
are willing to work for it. It’s a true “rags to riches” story which is evident when
you’ll see the dire financial situation the Gardner family is at the start of the
movie and what they have achieved when you see the epilogue of the movie and
get to know that he started his own stockbrokeragefirm. It inspires us to be
better, to not give up, to look into the face of adversity and keep carrying on
because as quickly as you can lose everything, in the same manner you can gain
too. From losing his wife to his home, Chris lost everything. His hard-earned
savings being snatched away by the Government to living off of just a few
dollars to finally landing a coveted job shows that if you are willing to work
hard, put effort, be determined and just put your head down and work towards
your goals, sooneror later you will reach them. The only thing you need is a
goal and a motivation which for Chris was his son and the need to provide a
better life for him.
The director in my opinion conveyed not only several hard-hitting realities from
homelessness to showing the dire conditions a person can find himself in but he
also conveyed several messages one should carry in his or her life in a simple
and honest way. Hats-off to Will Smith for bringing the conviction of the
character in such a manner onto the screen and also to Jaden Smith who acted
with such maturity albeit his age.
At last, ‘Thepursuit”in the title “ThePursuitof Happyness”is all we can do.
You may fail many a times but when one doorcloses another one opens and it’s
up to you whether to “pursue”it or not.
