COMPRA DE TIERRAS DE CARGILL EN TERRITORIO COLOMBIANO
Paddocks Patent September 15
1. Paddocks Patent: 16th September
15:00 Yarmouth
We start at the seaside location of Yarmouth on day two of their three-day
meeting.
This Listed race for fillies is the pick of today’s action. In previous renewals
three-year-olds seem to hold sway over their elders. Suffused’s last two efforts
have been in this company finishing second at Salisbury and fourth at York.
William Twiston-Davies gets back on board this Roger Charlton filly and guided
her to success three starts ago.
Loving Things is the most interesting having only had one start when seen
winning a maiden on soft ground at Salisbury. She won that quite nicely and
being the least exposed could have more to come up against this exposed types.
She’s the obvious improver and proved her stamina in that maiden but this may
come too soon.
Speedy Boarding makes the most appeal of the three-year-olds. James
Fanshawe’s filly was fifth in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh when last seen and
dropping back into a grade she has won in previously. Her form looks decent
enough after beating Journey, who has since won a Listed race, in a Goodwood
maiden then stepped up on that to win the Listed Ballymacoll Stud Stakes at
Newbury prior to her run in Ireland. A likeable type and drops back to this trip
here.
Of the four-year-olds it is Talmada that takes the eye. She drops in grade after
her last two runs coming in Group company over shorter. Three starts ago she
was second to Covert Love in a Listed race over this distance. Hugo Palmer’s filly
then went on to win the Irish Oaks, so that form is working out nicely. Stepped
back up in trip and down in grade gives Roger Varian a chance to win this race
again after winning it last year with Hadaatha.
Advice: Talmada (E/W 9/2+) WON
16:35 Yarmouth (RACE ABANDONED)
A sprint over the minimum distance and Maljaa looks the one to beat after his
win at Haydock eleven-days ago. He raced prominently and then was able to fend
off the late challengers. His mark has gone up 4lb for that success and looks very
progressive. Another positive for this son of Paco Boy is that he is versatile on
the ground.
Ruth Carr is sending her Lexington Place a long way from home to compete in
this contest. He was 1l behind Maljaa in fourth at Haydock and remains a
2. consistent performer. Headgear is put back on the five-year-old in the shape of
cheekpieces. He is likely to be held up despite the draw in stall one and could try
to track William Buick on Midlander.
Robert Cowell has two in this race and Green Door looks very well handicapped
after winning the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes of a mark of 94 in 2013. His
mark has been 100+ since then and could get in contention in this race off 95.
After a break of 39 days he could be fresh enough to go well under Oisin Murphy.
In a smaller field his other runner Normal Equilibrium can’t be discounted either
but he tends to do his winning at the beginning of the season.
Humidor won at Epsom on heavy ground last time. It was the race he won last
year but then was voided. This eight-year-old has hit quirks but on his day can
show his ability. Versatile on ground but up 4lb for that win could stretch him
against these youngsters.
Advice: Lexington Place (E/W)
18:10 Kelso
We move up north to take in jumping over the fences at Kelso and Robin’s
Command was very impressive when beating Muwalla at Perth nine days ago.
Rose Dobbin’s eight-year-old jumped for fun and despite carrying a 7lb penalty
here looks difficult to oppose here at a track he has previously won twice at.
Purple ‘N Gold won a Novices Chase when last seen at Worcester and is the most
likely to serve it up to the selection. That was his first attempt over fences and he
acquitted himself win. As a six-year-old there could be more to come from this
David Pipe gelding.
Muwalla is on the same mark as when beaten by the selection at Perth and has
seven lengths to find. Lisa Harrison’s eight-year-old is consistent and could hit
the frame but has a bit to find. He was also behind Toledo Gold at Sedgefield in
August last year and Maurice Barnes’ runner is relatively fresh only having had
two runs in the summer months.
Advice: Robin’s Command (Win) WON
