1. PeaceTech Accelerator United Nations’
17 Sustainable
Development GoalsPeaceTech Accelerator will launch 12 new startups that
use technology to reduce violent conflict around the world.
These startups will target United Nations’ Sustainable
Development Goal #16, which seeks to promote just,
peaceful, and inclusive societies.
Enterprise teams will spend 12 weeks in an intensive program in Boulder, Colorado. Teams will be
prepped for investment, development, and deployment. 17’s proprietary curriculum uniquely addresses
pertinent topics facing startups and it will be tailored for enterprises operating in the field of peace
and conflict management. Our program promotes the sharing of knowledge, technology, market
channels and business processes integral to venture success, while facilitating learning between
teams and relevant experts.
In 2015, the global community adopted 17
goals to secure the long-term well being
of humanity.
The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
aim to end extreme poverty and eliminate
hunger; stabilize the climate and secure the
environment; promote peace and justice; and
set us on a path to sustainable development.
17’s RADICAL APPROACH
By combining the creativity, startup culture,
agility and risk tolerance of entrepreneurs
with the knowledge of academics and
practitioners, and then smashing them
together inside a ruthlessly efficient startup
accelerator, 17 creates scalable, high growth
startups that simultaneously provide economic
opportunities and encourage behaviors that
contribute to the Goals.
17 is the first and only startup
accelerator dedicated to addressing the
17 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
(SDGs) identified by the United Nations 2030
Agenda for Sustainable Development.
17 IS A COMPLETELY
DIFFERENT APPROACH.
By selecting and accelerating only those
startups that have high growth potential and
viable business models, 17 leverages the power
of market-based business models.
17 is founded on PRAGMATISM.
This means that we not only implement
the latest and most effective accelerator
models, but we also collaborate with powerful
corporations and organizations to create the
most advantageous conditions for our startups.
17 utilizes the world’s
LARGEST RESEARCH NETWORK
to extensively define each of the 169 targets
that make up the 17 SDGs, illuminating
these areas and potential market spaces for
entrepreneurs from around the globe.
17 seeks to maximize the effects of bringing
together the world’s greatest startups with
the world’s largest challenges.
