As a California based designer with 35 years of experience in the field of landscape architecture and urban design, my design philosophy is founded on the intellectual curiosity and the exploration of new expressions for landscape design and “place-making”. Believing that the landscape is one of the most potent and lasting forms of cultural expression, in 1990, MFLA, a San Francisco based urban design and landscape architecture studio, was established. I lead the MFLA Studio in the exploration of the intersections and complex relationships between environmental, social, and cultural systems over time.
