About
Over the course of his career, Metropolitan Community College chancellor Mark James has led large-scale projects and policy change initiatives designed to affect improvements for employees, students and the community the College serves. He began his public service in 1978, when he joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol as an undercover investigator, trooper, and Intelligence Section supervisor. He transitioned to federal service in 1987 as a special agent with the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), where he rose to the rank of special agent in charge of the Kansas City Field Division.
