VEGETAL
LEATHER
Marina’s fascination for Daphne paper and her extensive
experience in innovating with natural materials led her to
develop an original new material derived from  the very
same fibers used in Daphne Paper.
Baptized Vegetal Leather because  of its close semblance to
wrinkled leather, it enjoys a very soft and  delightful texture
and is a sustainable and attractive alternative for leather jour-
nals.
This exquisite material looks and feels like wrinkled leather but
is made entirely from 100% sustainable Daphne fibers used in
making traditional Nepalese paper.
The Daphne plant, which grows naturally high up in the Himalayas,
has long fibers that endow it with its strength and versatility. It is this
resilient property that inspired the idea to develop a new material
with the luxurious durability of leather and the environment-loving
practices that are the hallmark of Marina Vaptzarov products.
Named Vegetal Leather, for having qualities comparable to wrinkled
leather, it boasts a very soft and delightful texture. It can be used in
making a variety of eco-chic gifts, ranging from Vegetal leather travel
journals to decorative cushion covers and original blinds for the home.
