Born in 1953, I am a self taught artist. My association with the underprivileged and
special children , rag pickers, and children from the slum working at roadside dhabas
motivated me to paint. Participated in a group show organised by the Friends Society and
the Fine Arts Faculty of Baroda,1994, group show at United way of Baroda in aid of
physically challenged and special children,1995, group show organised by the World
Wide Fund for Nature, 1996, show organized by various artists at Hotel Taj, 2004,
painting exhibition at DurgaPuja Mela,2004, and group exhibition at Nehru Centre, 2006.

In my recent paintings, there is an element which is disturbing and of course distorted.
My struggle to overcome that is always evident because the struggle is from within, a
never ending process which stops only when the body is incapable of movement and
cannot even breathe any longer. The conflict is always hidden, unresolved, never ever
perfect but when it tries to burst out only a fraction of energy manages to make its way
out through brush and colours only to leave an impression on canvas for ever.
