Kashan is a historic city in central Iran known for its historic houses and mosques that attract many tourists. However, the area containing these tourist sites lacks lively public spaces and walkable paths, negatively impacting the city's tourism economy. The study aimed to understand how local communities can influence improving this tourism precinct and identify principles for place-shaping. Analyses of the precinct identified opportunities to promote commercial areas, develop public spaces, and activate underused areas to enhance the visitor experience.
