offense in Bangladeshi LawSection 375 Of penal
code 1860 makes it
clear "Sexual
intercourse by a man
with his own wife, the
wife not being under
thirteen years of age,
is not rape".

legality of marital rape!
There is a vague provision of “ sexual
Abuse” in section(3) of the Domestic
Violence Prevention and Protection
Act 2010 says nothing about the
legality of marital rape!
7. Marital Rape Eyes Of Islam
Our prophet Mohammad
PBUH mentions that,
“never intercourse with
your wives until they
come into a tranquil
mood.”.
Scholar Imam Gajjali says, “Never
intercourse with your wives like a
beast, first make them ready
psychologically.”
So, evidentially violent sexual
conduct is not permissible in the
Islam
8. Statistic IN Bangladesh
In 2013, United Nations (UN)
surveyed on 10,000 plus adult male
from Bangladesh, Srilanka, china
and Indonesia about their sexual
behavior. The report states that
24% of husbands forcefully
committed sex with their wives.

9. Marital Rape involves prolonged psychological abuse
which is merely reported in Bangladesh. But according to
a recent nationwide survey conducted by the Bangladesh
Bureau of Statistics in collaboration with the United
Nations Population Fund, nearly nine out of 10 husbands
abuse their wives in Bangladesh, The survey titled
“Violence Against Women Survey 2011” conducted on
12,600 women randomly chosen across the seven
divisions says an astonishing 87 percent of married
women are abused by their husbands

with available data, 52 had laws against marital rape, while
