To know, to live and to share Jesus Christ
2. U About our
Church
New Hope Community Church
is a family of believers in Jesus
Christ, committed to the author-
ity of the Bible and the power of
God to transform lives.
Our purpose is to help people
know Jesus Christ personally,
to grow in their relationship with
Him, to discover the meaning
of life through the Scriptures,
and to spread the message of
the assurance of eternal life
through simple faith in Christ.
Inspiring worship, relevant Bible
messages, home fellowship
groups, close relationships, and
people who are real characterize
our church.
U What we Believe
About God...
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.
He has eternally existed in three persons: the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These
three are coequal and are one God.
About Mankind...
Mankind was made in God’s image. Man is the
supreme object of God’s creation. Although we
have tremendous potential for good, we have a
nature marred by an attitude of disobedience
toward God. This attitude is called sin, and our
marred nature separates us from God. Genesis
1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1-2;
Romans 3:28.
About Jesus Christ...
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. As God
the Son, He is equal with the Father and the
Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered
Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of
all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead
after three days to demonstrate His power over
sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory
and will return again to earth to reign as King of
Kings and Lord of Lords. Isaiah 9-6; Matthew
1:22-23; John 1:1-8;, 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11;
Romans 1:3-4; I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Timothy
6:14-13; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-16.
About Salvation...
Salvation is God’s gift of forgiveness through
faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus took our punishment
for sin upon Himself when He died on the cross.
We can never make up for our sin by self-
improvement or good works. Only by trusting
in Jesus and in what He did for us on the
cross of Calvary can we be saved from sin’s
penalties and receive God’s gift of eternal life.
John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6; Romans 3:1, 6:23; 2
Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-
9; Titus 3:5.
About the Holy Spirit...
The Holy Spirit is God and is equal with the
Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit lives in
every Christian from the moment of salvation.
He provides the Christian with power for living,
understanding spiritual truth, and the guidance
in doing what is right. Each Christian should
seek to live under His control every day. John
14:16-17, 26; 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians
2:12, 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25;
Ephesians 1:13, 5:18.
About the Bible...
The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. It was
written by human authors, under the supernatu-
ral guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is our final
authority and the supreme source of truth for
Christian beliefs and living, because it is inspired
by God; it is truth without any mixture of error.
Psalm 12:6, 199:108, 119:160; Proverbs 30:5;
2 Timothy 1:13-14, 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21.
