Martin Luther King Jr. gave a famous speech in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1963 addressing racial segregation and the need for dignity and equal treatment for all people regardless of skin color. He spoke of the trials and tribulations African Americans had faced under segregation but expressed his hope and dream for a future where people would be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.
