Accreditation Programs
It is with great pleasure that Lifeline announces the successful renewal of all its accreditation
programs following on-site assessment by expert international assessors and auditors.
AABB Accreditation
In August 2014, a team of assessors from the AABB international organization visited Lifeline’s
premises and inspected all aspects of the operations including administrative procedures and all
scientific procedures for the collection, transportation of units, processing, testing,
cryopreservation and release/shipping of units for medical applications. In their report, the
assessors mentioned that ’Staff was very professional, well prepared and committed to high
quality’. The accreditation certificate has been reissued and can be found on our website:

All transplant centers across the world recognize the superiority in the quality of the cellular
therapy products processed, tested and cryopreserved at AABB Accredited facilities and such units
can be transplanted to patients with confidence. Lifeline voluntary participates in the AABB
accreditation program which demonstrates our strong commitment to quality and patients safety.
The AABB assessment process is rigorous, and based on operational system assessment designed to
encourage innovation and ongoing quality improvement. The AABB Accreditation Program is itself
accredited by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).

ISO 15189 Accreditation
Despite of the fact that clinical laboratory operations for the testing of the quality and the safety of
the banked units are assessed and accredited by the AABB Accreditation Program, Lifeline
continues to participate in the ISO 15189 Accreditation program which is specifically designed to
assess the competency and monitor all clinical laboratory operations including the participation in
external quality control schemes. A team of International experts performed an on-site assessment
of the clinical laboratory in October 2014 and proceeded to the issuing of a renewal of the
accreditation program with scope that includes all the methodologies employed to define the
quality of the banked units and the testing for infectious diseases.

European Union. Country State Competent Authorities and the EUROCET organisation have

operate within the law in an ethical way and that no illegal activity involving cells and tissues
takes place in the European Union.
