About
After voters overwhelmingly approved a referendum on April 23, seven residents sued the Town of Irondequoit, challenging the SEQRA process. The Town's attorney advised the town to re-do the environmental process and pass a new bond resolution, rather than go through the long and expensive court process. The residents then agreed to end the lawsuit.
Though another vote was not required, all bond resolutions are subject to a permissive referendum. A petition was filed to force a referendum. The Town Board scheduled a second vote for Saturday, December 14, from 9am-6pm at Christ the King School. The bond for construction of a new library on town hall campus will not exceed $13 million.
