The Jewish Community Housing Corporation (JCHC) owns and manages more than 470 apartments in four buildings for older adults in Morris and Essex counties in northern New Jersey. The non-profit organization offers seniors a range of options in terms of services, amenities, location and cost, all within a traditional Jewish environment.

The Lester Senior Housing Community,
consisting of 175 units, is comprised of the
Margaret & Martin Heller Independent Living
Apartments and the Judy & Josh Weston
Assisted Living Residence. Situated on the
Aidekman Jewish Federation Campus off Route
10 East in Whippany, the community opened in
May 2001. It consists of a mix of 84 market
rental 1 & 2 bedroom Independent Living units;
36 1bedroom low & moderate Independent
Living units; and 55 Assisted Living studio and
1bedrooom units. When it opened, Lester was
the first Jewishsponsored, kosher Assisted
Living community in the state of New Jersey.

5. The South Orange B’nai B’rith Federation
House (SOBBFH) is a 65unit apartment
building for independent seniors located at 219
South Orange Avenue in South Orange, New
Jersey. Subsidized by HUD for elderly and
disabled applicants who are eligible, the
building was opened in December 1992.
