The South Europe Atlantic Tours-Bordeaux high-speed line, inaugurated on February 28, 2017, will reduce travel time between Paris and Bordeaux to 2 hours and 4 minutes, after a €7.8 billion investment. Operated under a 50-year concession between SNCF Réseau and the Lisea consortium, this project symbolizes a significant advancement in France's rail infrastructure, enhancing connectivity across the southwestern region. The line, set to open on July 2, 2017, is anticipated to carry 20 million passengers per year and facilitate additional freight traffic.
