It was a huge cultural treasure
built all the way back in 1566 and
stood for 427 years. This bridge
was destroyed On November 9,
1993 due to bombings. Later on in
2004 they rebuilt it.

5. The Escape Tunnels
The only way out of Sarajevo was through
underground tunnels build in the 2nd
year of the war. These tunnels were
guarded by the government and civilians
required a permit to leave through them.
The tunnel was about 5 feet high and
couldn’t stop walking or you would get
trampled. It allowed resources such as
food, war supplies and medicine to come
in the city.
