To Whom it May Concern:
My Mother and I contracted with College Works Painting in March 2013 through Kyle Kapustka. The initial
presentation was informative, and after discussing the bid with a general contractor (friend) and some people in
the industry, as well as researching the company, we determined that the cost was fair and the company
reputation was solid.
Kyle power sprayed the entire house himself. Not easy, as it is on a hill and has a three-story section in the back.
The prep work was extensive, and thoroughly completed. Mom was very concerned about safety issues,
however the planning and execution of safety precautions by Kyle and his employees made her feel at ease.
Additionally, they moved plant pots and deck furniture out of the way that we could not lift.
The paint work is absolutely beautiful. A number of neighbors have commented on the quality of work. Mom is
thrilled with it - - and if Mama’s happy, then I’m happy! I worked in the construction industry for several years
and was challenged to find “punch list” items for Kyle. I mentioned ONE to him one afternoon, to which he
responded, “Oh yeah, I saw that and got it today.” (I should have known!)
Probably the biggest thing that impressed us was the attention to detail and doing all of the extra things - - such
as going over things twice, Kyle guiding his team through procedures and watching their work, and the way that
he complimented and encouraged them. He also walked us through the progress to see if we had any questions
or concerns each day. His team generally worked 8 - hour days, however I do not think Kyle ever did. Generally
he worked 10 – 12 hour days.
Also, I do have to say that Kyle is as good a sport as a manager. I asked him to be my guinea pig for a new recipe
that I had never made before. He looked a little bit scared, but he stepped up and tried it - - he said it was good,
but that may have been his politeness!
We expected this to be a long, inconvenient process. Not so. Kyle is an exceptional manager of people, time and
materials. Clean-up at the end of each day was thorough enough that neighbors did not know they were still
working on the job.
All of the people on the job were professional, polite, informative and very hard-working. And they all had a
sense of humor as well, which was enjoyable. I appreciated the respect and kindness they showed to my Mom.
We will definitely recommend College Works (specifically Kyle Kapustka) to anyone looking for painting work. It
was a pleasure to have him around for a week.
Sincerely,
Tammy Badger (and my Mom – Marilyn Hazel)
