Think about what you already know about substance use and abuse
and provide your initial response to the Big Question, "In what ways can
substance abuse affect me?"
Substance abuse is a problem or issue somebody has. It is either they are
addicted to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco. It can affect me because the people I
hang around with could peer pressure me into do something and I could
become addicted as well. Using drugs could affect my mental health my
destroying my brain.

think it is important to learn about substance abuse?
It is important to know about substance abuse because if someone you know
or care about is in danger or addicted to either one there life could be on the
line. You should know about it that way you could help them and inform them
about what are the affects they do to you.

Now that you have learned about how drugs affect the brain how will
this information affect your decisions about drug use?
I don’t think my decision will be affected because I know that using substance
abuse is really life-threatening to anybody. And I know there is a lot of affects
that could happen to a person and mess with their health and body.

claim can you make about the need for society to continue to support
the prevention of drug abuse?
Claim- I can claim that as a society we should support the prevention of
drug abuse.
Evidence- I would support my claim with the following three (3)
evidence components:
Evidence 1: It could harm people.
Evidence 2: People could die from it.
Evidence 3: It could harm the society.
Rationale- I think the evidence supports my claim because if we
support the prevention of drug abuse we will save many life’s of the
people in our environment and make it a better place.

To be successful I think I need to learn more about what we can do to
stop people from getting addicted because it is not a good thing to be
addicted to drugs or alcohol, it could affect your family and friends.

strongly about my answer and what we could do to fix things. The part where I
