INTRODUCTION
In the world we live in, things more or less exist in three dimensions. All
solids exist in three dimensions. The trinity, the Godhead, is also in three
forms of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matt.28:19). The
regenerated man according to scriptures is a tripartite being having the
spirit, the soul and the body (1Thess.5:23).
The Word is a divine appellation for Jesus Christ (John 1:1-14); he is the
communication of God to humanity (Heb. 1:1-3, Matt. 17:3-5). The word
can describe the flow of God’s knowledge, wisdom and understanding to
men through the medium of verbal words. The divine expression of God to
man seeks to speak to the three dimensions of man. This is so that all
aspects of man’s personhood are reached by God who loves man wholeheartedly.
The word of God as the template of change has been established in an
earlier book by the author, titled Behaviour Change, God’s Way. Now we
want to explore that instrument of truth in its various forms. As earlier said,
just as God is in three dimensions, so does his word come in three forms to
speak to the three parts of man- the spirit, soul and body.
Come along as we explore and unveil these things and discover what the
word has to do with you.

THE ULTIMATE REVELATION
The man Jesus in his revelation of himself to his disciples revealed
himself as the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). And he is the word
of God, the ultimate revelation of God to mankind. This shows that Christ
as the way, the truth and the life, being the word of God, expresses God by
revealing him as the same.
Jesus came to the world to reveal God (John 1:1-8) and whatever he says
or does gives expression to God the father - his way, his truth arid his life.
Jesus as man had a body (Heb. 10:5), a soul (Matt. 26:3 8) and has a spirit
(Luke 23:46). With his body, he moved, with his soul he thought (i.e.
processed information) and with his spirit he lived the life of God on the
earth. We in the same vein ought to follow what he does (1Peter 2:21), learn
to think his thoughts (Matt. 16:21-23) and also live by the inspiration of the
Spirit (1John 3:24). All these realities of his can be transferred to us through
the revelation of himself through his word.
TRUTH CAPSULE 1:
A) WE ARE TO FOLLOW IN THE STEPS OF CHRIST, WHICH MEANS TO
FOLLOW HIM AS THE WAY.
B) WE ARE TO LISTEN AS HE SHARES WITH US THE TRUTH; EXAMPLES
ARE THE PRINCIPLES OF THE KINGDOM, WHICH ARE ENCODED AS
PARABLES IN THE BIBLE.
C) WE ARE TO HARKEN TO THE VOICE OF HIS SPIRIT AS HE MOVES US.
The whole essence of the word of God is the unveiling of who God is.
So that progressively and eventually we can be like him. And as unveiled in
the book earlier mentioned, the word of God spoken from the scriptures is
the important means of doing this and Jesus Christ is that Word of God.

8. THE WORD OF GOD EXISTS IN THREE FORMS
And that same Word says he exists in three dimensions: the way, the truth
and the life. Therefore for a complete, definite, coherent view of the word,
we need to see it in that three dimensions of the way, the truth and the life.
A conventional way of seeing the word of God is to see it as existing in two
forms of the rhema and logos; both Greek words are mostly translated as
‘word’ in the New Testament. Logos is seen as the written word of God
and rhema as the spoken word of God. This understanding is far from
accurate as even the word logos as used in the first verse of the letter of
John and the gospel according to him reveal that logos is beyond the
written word.
The accurate meaning has to do with word in expression and in
conception, i.e. the word expressed and the word conceived; the word
externalised i.e. acted out and the word internalised, respectively.
Rhema on the other hand has to do with revelation, which is the word
revealed.
Therefore we will be exploring the three dimensions of the word as it
tallies with the way, the truth and the life. The way is the expression; the
truth is the conception while the life is the revelation.
There is nowhere in the bible that logos means the written word. The
written word in the scriptures is scriptures. And it is the basis of all the
dimensions of the word that we will be exploring and cannot be
underestimated at all.
Understanding the way the word of God works in its various forms will
bring us into an area of spiritual intelligence equipping us to work with God
with increasing flair.
Just as we have God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit,
we also have the word the way; the word, the truth; and the word, the life.
