Over-improvement is a real thing. If you are going to live in your home for 10 years, you can justify an investment to nearly anyone. However, consider that people drive Kia’s and Bentley’s. Both are cars; both work to move you from A to Z but, if you want a swanky ride for your PERSONAL JOY then that is completely justifiable, too!
This is a space that desperately pursued function. We did not design this. Look at the wooden blinds under the stove. Yikes.
Will you realistically keep glass doored cabinets or open shelving attractive? Do you get bothered by kids’ homework clutter? Are you willing to forgo quartz countertops in order to get that second sink or wine fridge in the island? Do you have huge lobster pots? Would you rather have your glassware near the dishwasher to make unloading easier or would you rather have a drink station closer to a water dispenser on the fridge? Are pot-fillers essential in your cooking habits?
