1. Lumax Group - Chronology
1. 1945: (LIL) was founded as a trading concern by Late Sh. S.C. Jain as Globe Auto.
2. 1956: (LIL) Manufacturing Units set up for automotive lighting equipment and other
components.
3. 1967: (LIL) First Manufacturing unit at Mayapuri, New Delhi.
4. 1975: (LIL) Manufacturing unit set up for automotive filters.
5. 1977: (LIL) Manufacturing units became functional at Faridabad-Haryana and Pune
– Maharashtra.
6. 1981: (LATL) Originally incorporated as Lumax Auto Electricals Pvt Ltd on
30.11.1981.
7. 1981: (LIL) Incorporated as Lumax Industries Pvt. Limited on 10.12.1981.
8. 1982: (LATL) First Unit Established to manufacture automotive components at
Bhosari.
9. 1984: (LIL)
1. Converted from Private Ltd Company to Public Ltd Company.
2. Technical assistance agreement with STANLEY, JAPAN for lighting
equipment.

2. 10. 1985:(LIL) Dedicated manufacturing unit setup for Maruti-Suzuki at Gurgaon –
Haryana.
11. 1988: (LATL) Second Unit started at Waluj, Aurangabad for supplying auto parts to
Bajaj Auto.
12. 1988:(LATL) Name changed from Lumax Auto Electricals Pvt Ltd to Dhanesh Auto
Electricals Pvt Ltd on 02.11.1988.
13. 1990: (LIL) The Company jointly with Haryana State Industrial Development
Corporation (HSIDC) promoted a new company under the name and style
Laser Lamps (Haryana) Ltd., for the manufacture of auto bulbs and head
lights in Gurgaon district.
14. 1991: (LIL) The Laser Lamps (Haryana) Ltd., became a subsidiary of the Company,
9,49,500 bonus shares issued in prop. 1:1 on 5-4-1991.
15. 1993: (LIL)
1. The Laser (Haryana) Ltd. Promoted by the Company made its first public
issue in January.
2. The Company was advised to change the scheme of funding the proposed
expansion and modernization programme in view of the changed
scenario in the capital market.
3. The Company undertook an expansion cum modernization programme of
the existing plants.

3. 16. 1993: (LATL) R&D center established at Chinchwad, Pune.
17. 1994: (LIL) The Company entered into an agreement with Stanley Electric Co. Ltd.,
Japan. As per this agreement Stanley & its subsidiary were allotted
7,50,000 No. of equity shares at a premium of Rs 64 per share.
18. 1995: (LIL) ISO 9002 Certification awarded to Gurgaon unit by TUV Germany.
19. 1995: (LATL) Third unit started at Chakan for Bajaj Auto for manufacturing exhaust
systems & fuel tanks for 2-wheelers.
20. 1997:
(LATL) Fourth unit started at Waluj for the production of motorcycle chassis for
Bajaj Auto.
(LIL) Established a Joint Venture Co. with GHSP, USA. in the name of Lumax GHSP
Industries Ltd (LDK) on 07.05.1997.
(LIL) Merger of Laser Lamp (Haryana) Limited with Lumax Industries Limited.
21. 1998:
(LDK) QS-9000 Certification awarded to Gurgaon unit by DNV Netherlands.
(LDK) First Unit started production of Rod Linkage Shifter for Maruti Suzuki
India Ltd.
(LIL) Commercial Production started at LUMAX Dharuhera.
22. 1999: (LIL) QS – 9000 Certification awarded to Dharuhera unit by DNV Netherlands.

4. 23. 2000: (LDK) Bajaj Auto Limited selected the company as a cluster member for T.P.M.
Activities.
24. 2002: (LATL) Converted into Limited Company as Dhanesh Auto Electricals Ltd on
30.5.2002.
(LATL) Fifth Unit started Lighting Division at Chakan for Bajaj.
(LDK) Started Cable Type Gear Shift System for MSIL in Manesar.
25. 2003: (LIL) ISO/TS 16949:2002 Certification awarded to GURGAON and DHARUHERA
Units by DNV, USA.
26. 2004: (LIL) ISO 14001 Certification for Gurgaon, Dharuhera and Chennai Plants by DNV.
(LIL) De-merger – Core Lighting Technology.
(LATL) ISO Certification warded to Chakan and Bhosari unit
(LDK) Name changed from Lumax GHSP Ltd to Lumax DK Auto Industries Ltd. on
after acquiring holding of JV Partner GHSP.
27. 2005: (LDK) Gear Shifter and Parking Brakes for Swift (with CIMAR) in Manesar.
(LATL) Received ISO Certificate for Bhosari Unit.
28. 2006: (LATL) Name of the company was changed to Lumax Auto Technologies Ltd. on
02.08.2006.
(LDK) Become subsidiary of LATL.
(LDK) Set up Integrated Injection Moulding Plant in Manesar.

5. 29. 2007: (LATL) came out with an IPO of 30.12 Lac Equity shares at Rs 75/- per share
listed at stock exchanges on 12.01.2007 started state-of-the-art plant at
PCMC- Chinchwad to produce sheet metal components & powder coating.
(LDK) Second Unit Set up dedicated fully for Bajaj Auto (2 Wheeler Lighting)
at Tax Free Zone in integrated Industrial Park, Sidkul(Pantnagar) and
started production from 02.04.2007.
(LCAT)First Unit Set up with 50:50 Joint Venture of Cornaglia, Italy & LATL to
manufacture Air Intake System.
30. 2008: (LIL) 1. New Unit setup in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand for TATA Motors .
2. Extension of Dharuhera and Chakan Plant.
31. 2009: (LATL) New trading unit started at Manesar for Trading of Adjustor Levellor
Motors.
32. 2010: (LIL) New Unit set up in Haridwar, Uttarakhand for supply to Hero Honda.
33. 2010: (LDK) & (LIL)
Recognition for In - house R & D by Department of Science & Industrial
Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India at
Manesar unit for gear shifter.
(LDK) Prestigious Gold Award for overall excellence & certificate for focused on
cost down efforts to Manesar unit from MSIL.
(LDK) TPM awarded from Bajaj to Pantnagar.

6. 36. 2011:
 (LATL) Seventh Plant set up at Kala-Amb in Himachal Pradesh for production
of Auto Bulbs and related applications
 (LATL) Diversification into non-auto business segment – LED based lightings
and infrastructural lightings.
 (LDK) Acquire additional land in Pantnagar.
36. 2012:
 (LDK) Third unit Setup at Bangalore for Gear Shifter for Toyota.
 (LATL) Setting up of new unit at Bangalore for HMSI (SOP -01.04.13).
 (LATL) New unit in Waluj with Automated Robot for BAL & Ranjangaon is under
construction.
