2. "Old good Poland" - this is often called
this country with a rich history and
culture. In its traditions, including
wedding, harmoniously combine both
Slavic and European tendencies and
motives. The Poles honor their history
and culture and traditions, whenever
possible, try to observe, especially in
rural areas.

3.  An important moment for the Poles, as in other things and
for other Slavs, is the moment of matchmaking. And,
although the issue of marriage has been settled for a long
time between young people, a wedding ceremony is
present at any Polish wedding. In our time, this tradition
resembles a theatrical performance, although in the old
days everything was serious enough. The matchmakers
took a bottle of vodka with them, which they drank with a
positive outcome of the event. If one of the parties did not
like something - the cherished bottle remained untouched.
Modern Polish bridegrooms sometimes adhere to the
tradition of giving the bride shoes, and the bride groom -
a shirt, only her own hands the bride does not embroider.

4. In Poland, just like in many regions of Western Belorussia and
Ukraine, where the population basically adheres to the Catholic
faith, the engagement and the upcoming wedding solemnly
announces the church in the church, which he usually does
during each Sunday service.

5. It should be noted (and adopted by our girls) that the wedding dress in Poland is bought by the
groom, listening to the wishes of the bride. The wedding dress of the Polish pannochka, like that
of our brides, is traditionally white, symbolizing the purity and innocence of the girl. On this
occasion the Poles once had a rather rigid custom, obliging the bride to go to the altar in a
wreath woven on the eve of her friends. This headgear was allowed to be worn only if the girl was
a virgin. In the opposite case, the bride walked to the altar without a wreath, which caused
endless gossip and ridicule of guests and onlookers.

6. Great importance is still attached to the manufacture of the so-called "merry-
go-round". This wedding symbol is a branch of a tree - pine, apple, plum-
which is adorned with flowers, feathers, bells, spikelets for the wedding. This
symbol in our time can be bought in wedding salons, and you can make
yourself. This custom goes back to the times when all the girls wore a braid,
and during the wedding celebration it should be untwisted.

7. At the present time, however, as with us, the preparations for the wedding
have become simpler, the wedding is often celebrated one day. The number
of guests also decreased, although the Poles celebrate the wedding, still
grandly and magnificently.
