The Jaguar XE is reviewed, with specifications provided including a 2.0L diesel engine, 6-speed manual transmission, and top speed of 132 mph. Key details that make the XE competitive with BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, and Mercedes C-Class are its modern luxury, rear-wheel drive, efficient engines, and exciting performance as a family car or saloon. The XE also has advanced aerodynamics, iconic styling details, responsive electric power steering, and a range of multimedia and driver assistance features that make it a reliable and cheaper alternative to the Jaguar XF.

Incredible attention to detail, responsive steering
and contemporary styling are just a few points that
add to the production of a great car. Compared with
its competitors; the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and
Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Jaguar XE more than
holds its own- and here’s why. This month, Transport
Monthly were thrilled to review the popular Jaguar
XE on the UK roads.
With impetus firmly on modern luxury, the XE more
than retains its value as a classic car. The vehicle’s
rear wheel drive and efficient engines ensure the
car performs well also- and overall would prove an
exciting prospect as a family car or a saloon for those
who can’t afford the XF.
The Jaguar XE has been improved with advanced
aerodynamic ability and cuts through the air with
its sportier elements added for that extra X-factor.
From chrome side vents to iconic rear haunches,
Jaguar’s attention to detail is especially striking, if
not unrivalled.
In performance, the car is still lively, vibrant and
dynamic enough for the more enthusiastic drivers. As
we tested the 2L Diesel i4 we found it to be incredibly
fuel efficient and remarkably quiet at high speeds
despite lacking power somewhat. Having said that,
the electric power steering offers decent handling and
is quickly responsive.
Like all contemporary new cars, the XE comes with
a range of multimedia gadgets and in-car technology.
Explore the XE’s InControl Touch command centre
through its 8-inch touch screen fit with satellite,
climate and audio navigation.
Additionally, the vehicle categorically excels
when it comes to the driver assistance features.
With autonomous emergency braking, lane departure
warning and an optional blind spot monitor, the Jaguar
XE prevails as one of the most alert and dependable
cars made by the British manufacturers.
Our verdict is that the Jaguar XE remains a reliable
and cheaper alternative to the older and more reputable
Jaguar XF. Custom with Jaguar, the vehicle shines in
comfort and sleek styling. Though not without a few
negatives, the diesel model of the XE is still worth
raving about.
