2. Termite Reports are required:
If Written Into A
Purchase Contract
It may be removed from the contract with
the following verbiage on an Addendum:
“The termite report and clearance to be removed from
the purchase contract.”

On VA loans
Section I is required, but Section II may
be required if it can lead to infestation
(underwriter discretion)

If Called For By The
Appraiser Or Underwriter
In some situations, the appraiser or
underwriter may call for a termite report
and clearance if a house has an
excessive amount of visible dry rot,
obvious infestation, etc.

Of The Transaction
Section I clearance is required, but
Section II may be required if it can lead to
infestation (underwriter discretion)
If further inspection is mentioned in the
report, a re-inspection may be required to
determine no active infestation and to
confirm structural soundness
