Two students, Brianna Velazquez and Jocelyn Duarte, present a project called WaterWatcher to address the drought crisis. Their solution involves designing a system using a Raspberry Pi, funnel, liquid flow meter, and other materials to monitor water flow and send email alerts. The system integrates WiFi and a computer interface, representing a human-to-machine and machine-to-machine Internet of Things connection. Future work includes improving the system with a water meter, developing an app, and making the hardware more waterproof.
