The infographic shows the development of technologies from a floppy disk to cloud storage. Over the years, as the technology evolves, the need for higher storage capacity became more evident. From a simple floppy disk that could store 80KB, it continually evolves into a much smaller floppy disk that can store 1.44 MB of data. In 1982, Russell invented the Compact Disc (CD) that can store 737 MB of data and is commonly used for audio storage. In 1995, the first DVD has invented and it can store from 4.7 GB to 8.5 GB. In the year 2000, the USB flash drive was invented that can store up to 1TB. In 2005, the SD card was invented and has a storage capacity of 1MB-2TB. And finally, in 2011, Cloud Storage was invented by Licklider that can store an unlimited amount of data. Accordingly, as time goes by, there is always a need for better options with regards to backup storage and as of today, the best option available for internet users is Cloud Storage.
