Balgownie
- 1. Balgownie is a northern suburb of the city of Wollongong, New South
wales, Australia. Balgownie Village is located in the centre of the suburb,
containing multiple shops including the cafes, newsagent, butcher, bottle
shop, vet, leagues club, multiple restaurants, fire station, multiple churches
and pre schools and other assorted shops. Most notably the very well-known
Balgownie hotel and fish and chip shop, Balgownie public school and with
access to public transport frequenting the northern and southern suburbs of
Wollongong.
Located east is the suburb of Fairy Meadow which features Major shopping
centres, schools, train station (south coast train line to central station) and
fairy meadow beach which features a bike/walking track in both the north and
south direction past the beaches and restaurants.
Located west is the escarpment, while south is freeway access north and
southbound.
