2. The Early Christian Church
After the ascension of Jesus Christ,
as the apostles began to spread
the gospel and make disciples,
they provided the beginning
structure for the early Christian
Church.
3. Simon Peter, one of Jesus' 12 disciples,
became an influential leader in the Jewish
Christian movement. Later James, most
likely Jesus' brother, took over leadership.
These followers of Christ viewed
themselves as a reform movement within
Judaism, yet they continued to follow
many of the Jewish laws.
4. At this time Saul, originally one of the strongest
persecutors of the early Jewish Christians, had a
blinding vision of Jesus Christ on the road to
Damascus and became a Christian. Adopting the
name Paul, he became the greatest evangelist of
the early Christian church. Paul's ministry, also
called Pauline Christianity, was directed mainly to
Gentiles. In subtle ways, the early church was
already becoming divided.
5. In addition to Gnostic, Jewish, and Pauline
Christianity, many other versions of Christianity
were starting to be taught. After the fall of
Jerusalem in 70 AD, the Jewish Christian movement
was scattered. Pauline and Gnostic Christianity were
left as the dominant groups.
6. The Roman Empire legally recognized
Pauline Christianity as a valid religion in
313 AD.
7. 313 CE: Roman emperor Constantine legalized
Christianity, and in 330 moved the Roman capital to
Constantinople, leaving the Christian church to be the
central authority in Rome.
This is to prevent more uprisings and to further the
Roman Kingdom. Religion is an effective means to
invade territories.
This legalized and corrupted version of Christianity
was later known as the Roman Catholicsm

Saint Peter, all of them were Romans. These Popes had

over the judiciary system and the military. They can
order the execution of people including emperors who
are going against the Roman (Catholic) Church,.
9. The Romans wanted to further their empire that’s why
they started to “Christianize” the pagan symbols so that
the pagans will be converted. Many were killed and
forced to accept the Roman religion
11. It was the starting point where the Roman religion
started worshipping Mary as the Mother of
God/Quuen of Heaven to appropriate it with the
followers of the Greek Religion (Isis and Osiris)
12. As time goes, the Roman Religion’s power became so
great and influential in Europe, just by going against it
can cause you your life. It was during the middle ages
or the Dark Ages, where the Roman Religion
(Catholicsm) was very much in control. Many were
burned, killed, beheaded just by translating the Bible
to their own language.
13. Until such time that some clergy men of the Roman
church cannot take the corruption any longer, they
needed to speak up against the wrong and corrupted
teaching of the Roman Church meant to control their
empire
Such as:
- Praying to the Saints
- Paying Indulgences to saved
- Doing good works to be gain God’s favor
- Pope as the central authority of the church and the
Empire
14. Luther was ordained to the
priesthood in 1507. He came to
reject several teachings and
practices of the Roman Catholic
Church; in particular, he disputed the
view on indulgences.
15. Luther taught that salvation and,
consequently, eternal life are not
earned by good deeds but are
received only as the free gift of God's
grace through the believer's faith in
Jesus Christ as redeemer from sin.
His theology challenged the authority
and office of the pope by teaching
that the Bible is the only source of
divinely revealed knowledge,[4] and
opposed sacerdotalism by
considering all baptized Christians to
be a holy priesthood.
16. He was executed because he
translated the Bible in English
Tyndale "was strangled to death
while tied at the stake, and then his
dead body was burned". His final
words, spoken "at the stake with a
fervent zeal, and a loud voice", were
reported as "Lord! Open the King of
England's eyes.

of the Bible with regards to salvation
and Jesus as revived by Martin Luther
