trainers.

5. I DON’T WANT TO BE AN ARTIST!
WHY BOTHER STUDYING ART?
Studying art teaches
determination and
resilience – qualities useful
to any career.
It teaches us that it is okay
to fail, to not get things
totally right the first time
and to have the courage to
start again.
When you study art you learn to
work both independently and
collaboratively, you also gain
experience in time management –
skillsets valued by employers.
• Art may not be your
favourite subject, but when
studying the arts alongside
other subjects it can
significantly boost your
achievements.
6. SO WHY STUDY CREATIVE
SUBJECTS?
• Learning about creative subjects enriches the experience of
studying while at school as well as preparing you for life
after school.
• It encourages self-expression and creativity and can build
confidence as well as a sense of individual identity.
• Creativity can also help with wellbeing and improving
health and happiness – many students commented that
creative subject lessons acted as an outlet for releasing the
pressures of studying as well as those of everyday life.
