Executive Summary
Who We Are
Maxima Shirts provides the market the chance to create a shirt with their own original
sayings or favorite quotes. Creation and ordering will be done strictly online, on an
easy-to-navigate website. We will target males in the continental United States of lower
to middle income ranges, ages 18-49, and have women's cuts of select colors available,
as well.
Maxima Shirts is a sole proprietorship founded by James Spanheimer, who also acts as
everyday manager and marketing head. Spanheimer realizes the importance of
expressing creativity, and became disillusioned with the banality of mainstream
clothing long ago.
What We Sell
Maxima Shirts is a company which gives customers the ability to give the world a piece
of themselves by placing their favorite or original sayings on a high quality,
customized-colored t-shirt. Have you ever heard a saying or come up with a mantra
and wished you could share it with others effortlessly? Maxima Shirts is your long-lost
solution. Materials will be the same high quality, fitted shape throughout all sizes and
gender options.
Images of any kind will not be an option, however, due to potential copyright claims.
Who We Sell To
This business will target males in the lower to middle income demographic, ages 18-49,
which includes high school seniors, with select colors for women's fitted shirts. The
natural tendency would be for a company of this sort to cater to only adolescents. We
realize, however, that males in their 40's particularly have plenty to say, and we desire
to be their one-stop-shop as well.

Company
Mission Statement
Business is not given, it is earned. Customers are not swindled; they are won with
attention and care.
Company Overview
Maxima Shirts was started by James Spanheimer as a sole proprietorship, who for years
searched far and wide for shirts that adequately expressed how he felt and what
sayings meant something to him. Feeling unfulfilled, he decided to create this company
as a way for others to save themselves the time and money of a fruitless wild goose
chase. Maxima is owned and operated in southeastern Wisconsin, as Spanheimer
believes it's the perfect centralized location to ship products all over the country.
The main purpose of Maxima is to give customers what they desperately want and
need, which is to stand out and show their independence in a society driven by
uniformity.

Locations and Facilities
Maxima Shirts will have a 1,000 sq ft factory studio where the shirts get made and
server rack for the online services on site. The location of 800 Main St. in Pewaukee, WI
is very near Hwys 16 and 94, and not within 3000 ft of any residential areas.

Benefits to the Community
Creativity is greatly encouraged and uplifted through Maxima Shirts when we head to
local colleges with samples and offer some free shirts to raffle winners.
The fact that the headquarters will be in Pewaukee is a boon to the community since
this is a business which targets nationwide customers.

which the company or CEO (sole proprietorship) are possibly liable.

said shirt(s) may be at the discretion of Maxima Shirts.

probable copyright claims.

visits to colleges/festivals as this can result in a variety of legal issues.

of an accident which was not their fault.

Products and Services
Products and Services
Maxima Shirts will offer high quality shirts made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, with
the ability of the customer to customize the color of the shirt and text (within a
spectrum of 15 possible colors) and also the font (within a spectrum of 15 possible
fonts).
Maxima will be a 24-hour operation, with online being the sole resource for ordering,
excluding events at colleges where cash/credit card can be used. Sales/Purchasing and
Accounting will work an 8a-5p weekday schedule, while the machine operator will
have a 7a-3:30p weekday schedule. The CEO's itinerary will be more fluid, often
working more on an as-needed basis.
Competitors
There are a couple of direct competitors to Maxima Shirts in the Milwaukee area:
• MJM Screenprint & Embroidery Studio which is located on N88W16654
Appleton Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 (262) 250-
4102 http://www.mjmventuresinc.com is the one stop shop for customers' screen
printing and embroidery needs. They will promote the buyer's name, emblem, or
logo design on a variety of items such as polo shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, fleece,
warm-up gear, jackets, caps, bags, and even golf accessories. Private clubs,
schools, sports teams, small businesses, large corporations, professional
associations, and many other affiliations, are among their satisfied customers.
They are different from Maxima in that their store is the main outlet for their
sales, with the website being an afterthought.
• Milwaukeeshirtguys.com has their website and also they sell their shirts at
include The Jack on National Ave. in West Milwaukee, Starship on South 76th
Street and North Farwell Ave., and Brewski’s on 76th in Milwaukee.Their prices
for shirts and services are higher than mine.

• Customink.com is an online retailer, and their headquarters and shipping points
are about 7 miles outside of Washington, D.C. There are straight prices for each
shirt no matter the size, depending on whether there are changes to the
customization. If things get added or subtracted between orders, then the prices
will vary.
• Commoditees.net has their location on Clinton Ave. in Milwaukee, and this is
also where they ship and offer pick-ups from. Their catalog is actually handled
on ssactivewear.com which makes these people just a middleman and pick-up
location, giving me a distinct advantage because I can create things on the spot
without communicating to some other company.

Target Market
Market Overview
College students: 350,000 prospects which have I estimate $500 average annual
spending for t shirts.
High school seniors: 70,000 prospects with an average annual spending amount of $750
as individuals of this age are all about expression and drawing attention to themselves.
20s-30s adults: 210,000 prospects which have higher costs of living than college
students and high school seniors, so $250 average annually.
40s adults: 43,000 prospects which have an average of $150 average annual spending on
creative clothing, since things tend to get more simplistic in our desire to express
ourselves as we get older.
Market Needs
Creativity has dried up in this age of restrictions. The aim of Maxima Shirts is to give
the customer the ability to visually describe what they feel and believe. We offer high
quality material with a wide variety of colors and fonts, shipped from and made in the
USA.
Industry Analysis
The t-shirt making industry has gotten very competitive in the past couple of years,
however some of these printing companies wind up taking on so many different types
of objects besides t-shirts that they do not give the projects the quality attention that
they need.
Virtually all companies use some form of website software for customers to navigate
through, or they take orders and use a print-on-demand service to make, sell and ship
their shirts, such as Zazzle, CafePress, Spreadshirt or PrintMojo. These services allow

the business to design shirts, sell them via an e-commerce platform and make money
without having to actually deal with printing or shipping the tees.

Strategy and Implementation
Marketing Plan
Product
A potentially limitless ability to have a customizable, high quality t-shirt which reflects
thoughts and beliefs that mean so much to an individual but also can be symbolic of
who that person is.
Place
The website maximashirts.com and also the college campuses myself and my team will
visit along with certain festivals around the city of Milwaukee, particularly in the
summer months.
Pricing
The pricing on each shirt will be a flat $20, with no odd pricing gimmicks such as
$19.95. It's my belief that customers are becoming aware of the blatant-marketing
tactics, and are looking to support businesses that don't treat them like fools.
Promotion
There will be promotions on Twitch.tv instead of YouTube, as it is becoming clear that
many users are growing tired of that medium with its policy changes. There will also be
free shirts given out at each campus and festival we visit, along with an probational
AdWords campaign set out on Facebook. There will also be an initial buy one, get one
half-off campaign for the first 30 days of Maxima Shirts, and this promotion will be
advertised in the form of fliers distributed strategically on Milwaukee's east side.
Sales Plan
There will be an initial buy one, get one half off campaign for the first 30 days of
Maxima Shirts, and this promotion will be advertised on the east side of Milwaukee.

The founder/CEO and Sales/Purchasing manager will receive a 2%/3% yearly net sales
commission, respectively at the end of each year. The Accounting manager will receive
a discretionary year end bonus.
When an order is received, the printer operator will be notified by his workstation's
computer receiving notification through the website's program and then they will create
the shirt from there.
After the shirt has left the premises, it will be tracked through UPS Ground which is the
standard method we will use unless next day air is specified.
Customers are encouraged to contact Founder/CEO directly if there are any issues with
the quality of their received product, or if they haven't received it within a timely
manner.
Exit Strategy
I would like to sell to a strategic buyer, who would take Maxima Shirts and keep it
running as is, but obviously expanding to a degree the amount of customizations and
the number of shirts produced. Even adding another factory in that person’s plan
would be a boon. None of the current employees really has the creative flair and interest
for this kind of thing, so it would have to be a buyer that is like-minded and I could
train easily. Trustworthiness is also a huge deciding factor.
A downside would be if I unbeknownst to me sold to a venture capitalist type that
wants my competition to do better, so after vampirishly feeding off my training they
decide after I leave to completely liquidate everything.
Critical Risks and Assumptions
• Sales increase 10% per year
• The company name and logo I use should be something that I'll be proud of in
years to come, because it's the worst thing to go through a name change and try
to re-invent yourself after building up a certain reputation.
• Funding will be self-funded apart from the $50,000 from sba.gov

SWOT Analysis
Strengths
• Customer can create their own saying(s)
• Easy to customize shirt(s) online
• High quality material
• Many colors/fonts to select from (shirts/text)
• Shipped from USA (cheaper and less time)
Weaknesses
• Not yet ready to ship to a worldwide market
• More than anything, dependent on word of mouth at the outset
• Wholesalers can charge more for their shirts because we are just starting out and
have little leverage
Opportunities
• Tapping into the creative fire which so many individuals have and are constantly
repressed
• The ability to showcase one's political opinion without fear that I will report
anyone, which gives people a sense of comfort
• A chance for travel and expanding into new cultures for myself and the team
Threats
• If there was no disclaimer that hateful sayings would be at the company's
discretion, Maxima would be inundated by hate groups of all kinds and thus we
would be a purveyor of garbage
• Larger printing businesses have the ability to undercut our prices since they can
take the overhead hit
• We can't advertise as much or for as long as larger companies
• Trademarked sayings may have to be identified and altered or have the TM/R
added

Quality Management
Lean Enterprise is a concept which will be thoroughly promoted at Maxima Shirts, with
the goal being that all employees meet high performance standards which will in turn
help to create the highest quality products to meet and exceed consumer demands.
There will be less lead time, and inventory won’t clutter up the work area. This will be
an ever-improving endeavor, with some attempts at being lean turning out to be off the
mark and so Kaizen events with Gemba sessions where everyone actually goes and sees
the printing being done will need to occur periodically, as well as error-proofing based
on 5 errors per 1,000.
We have a small enough team where everybody can be on board with a specific plan
and no communication gaps should occur, and if there’s a problem then it will be
identified rather quickly.

Benefits
My company would offer to all employees an HSA PPO health plan with full vision
coverage and preventative dental insurance. Paid time off will be granted at the rate of
12 hours per pay period, with there being 10 paid holidays, matching contribution
401(k) plan, contributory life insurance, short-term disability, and educational
assistance being offered.
These are desirable benefits because health insurance being sponsored by a company,
even though it’s a higher deductible plan, is getting rarer as months go by. Also having
full coverage vision with preventative dental is a sign that we really care about our
employees and their families as people. The short-term disability is included with the
printing machine operator in mind, but it’s available to all employees. Matching 401(k)
is a key component, as well, to entice potential candidates that have an interest in
retirement someday.

  • 5. Maxima Shirts 1 CONFIDENTIAL - DO NOT DISSEMINATE. This business plan contains confidential, trade-secret information and is shared only with the understanding that you will not share its contents or ideas with third parties without the express written consent of the plan author. Executive Summary Who We Are Maxima Shirts provides the market the chance to create a shirt with their own original sayings or favorite quotes. Creation and ordering will be done strictly online, on an easy-to-navigate website. We will target males in the continental United States of lower to middle income ranges, ages 18-49, and have women's cuts of select colors available, as well. Maxima Shirts is a sole proprietorship founded by James Spanheimer, who also acts as everyday manager and marketing head. Spanheimer realizes the importance of expressing creativity, and became disillusioned with the banality of mainstream clothing long ago. What We Sell Maxima Shirts is a company which gives customers the ability to give the world a piece of themselves by placing their favorite or original sayings on a high quality, customized-colored t-shirt. Have you ever heard a saying or come up with a mantra and wished you could share it with others effortlessly? Maxima Shirts is your long-lost solution. Materials will be the same high quality, fitted shape throughout all sizes and gender options. Images of any kind will not be an option, however, due to potential copyright claims. Who We Sell To This business will target males in the lower to middle income demographic, ages 18-49, which includes high school seniors, with select colors for women's fitted shirts. The natural tendency would be for a company of this sort to cater to only adolescents. We realize, however, that males in their 40's particularly have plenty to say, and we desire to be their one-stop-shop as well.

Company Mission Statement Business is not given, it is earned. Customers are not swindled; they are won with attention and care. Company Overview Maxima Shirts was started by James Spanheimer as a sole proprietorship, who for years searched far and wide for shirts that adequately expressed how he felt and what sayings meant something to him. Feeling unfulfilled, he decided to create this company as a way for others to save themselves the time and money of a fruitless wild goose chase. Maxima is owned and operated in southeastern Wisconsin, as Spanheimer believes it's the perfect centralized location to ship products all over the country. The main purpose of Maxima is to give customers what they desperately want and need, which is to stand out and show their independence in a society driven by uniformity. Management Team and Organizational Chart James Spanheimer, Founder and CEO Damian Wendorf, Accounting Mike Moore, Sales and Purchasing Locations and Facilities Maxima Shirts will have a 1,000 sq ft factory studio where the shirts get made and server rack for the online services on site. Target Market Market Overview College students: 350,000 prospects which have I estimate $500 average annual spending for t shirts. High school seniors: 70,000 prospects with an average annual spending amount of $750 as individuals of this age are all about expression and drawing attention to themselves. 20s-30s adults: 210,000 prospects which have higher costs of living than college students and high school seniors, so $250 average annually. 40s adults: 43,000 prospects which have an average of $150 average annual spending on creative clothing, since things tend to get more simplistic in our desire to express ourselves as we get older. Market Needs Creativity has dried up in this age of restrictions. The aim of Maxima Shirts is to give the customer the ability to visually describe what they feel and believe. We offer high quality material with a wide variety of colors and fonts, shipped from and made in the USA. Industry Analysis The t-shirt making industry has gotten very competitive in the past couple of years, however some of these printing companies wind up taking on so many different types of objects besides t-shirts that they do not give the projects the quality attention that they need. Virtually all companies use some form of website software for customers to navigate through, or they take orders and use a print-on-demand service to make, sell and ship their shirts, such as Zazzle, CafePress, Spreadshirt or PrintMojo. These services allow

Strategy and Implementation Marketing Plan Product A potentially limitless ability to have a customizable, high quality t-shirt which reflects thoughts and beliefs that mean so much to an individual but also can be symbolic of who that person is. Place The website maximashirts.com and also the college campuses myself and my team will visit along with certain festivals around the city of Milwaukee, particularly in the summer months. Pricing The pricing on each shirt will be a flat $20, with no odd pricing gimmicks such as $19.95. It's my belief that customers are becoming aware of the blatant-marketing tactics, and are looking to support businesses that don't treat them like fools. Promotion There will be promotions on Twitch.tv instead of YouTube, as it is becoming clear that many users are growing tired of that medium with its policy changes. There will also be free shirts given out at each campus and festival we visit, along with an probational AdWords campaign set out on Facebook. There will also be an initial buy one, get one half-off campaign for the first 30 days of Maxima Shirts, and this promotion will be advertised in the form of fliers distributed strategically on Milwaukee's east side. Sales Plan There will be an initial buy one, get one half off campaign for the first 30 days of Maxima Shirts, and this promotion will be advertised on the east side of Milwaukee.

The founder/CEO and Sales/Purchasing manager will receive a 2%/3% yearly net sales commission, respectively at the end of each year. The Accounting manager will receive a discretionary year end bonus. When an order is received, the printer operator will be notified by his workstation's computer receiving notification through the website's program and then they will create the shirt from there. After the shirt has left the premises, it will be tracked through UPS Ground which is the standard method we will use unless next day air is specified. Customers are encouraged to contact Founder/CEO directly if there are any issues with the quality of their received product, or if they haven't received it within a timely manner. Exit Strategy I would like to sell to a strategic buyer, who would take Maxima Shirts and keep it running as is, but obviously expanding to a degree the amount of customizations and the number of shirts produced. Even adding another factory in that person’s plan would be a boon. None of the current employees really has the creative flair and interest for this kind of thing, so it would have to be a buyer that is like-minded and I could train easily. Trustworthiness is also a huge deciding factor. A downside would be if I unbeknownst to me sold to a venture capitalist type that wants my competition to do better, so after vampirishly feeding off my training they decide after I leave to completely liquidate everything. Critical Risks and Assumptions • Sales increase 10% per year • The company name and logo I use should be something that I'll be proud of in years to come, because it's the worst thing to go through a name change and try to re-invent yourself after building up a certain reputation. • Funding will be self-funded apart from the $50,000 from sba.gov

SWOT Analysis Strengths • Customer can create their own saying(s) • Easy to customize shirt(s) online • High quality material • Many colors/fonts to select from (shirts/text) • Shipped from USA (cheaper and less time) Weaknesses • Not yet ready to ship to a worldwide market • More than anything, dependent on word of mouth at the outset • Wholesalers can charge more for their shirts because we are just starting out and have little leverage Opportunities • Tapping into the creative fire which so many individuals have and are constantly repressed • The ability to showcase one's political opinion without fear that I will report anyone, which gives people a sense of comfort • A chance for travel and expanding into new cultures for myself and the team Threats • If there was no disclaimer that hateful sayings would be at the company's discretion, Maxima would be inundated by hate groups of all kinds and thus we would be a purveyor of garbage • Larger printing businesses have the ability to undercut our prices since they can take the overhead hit • We can't advertise as much or for as long as larger companies • Trademarked sayings may have to be identified and altered or have the TM/R added

Quality Management Lean Enterprise is a concept which will be thoroughly promoted at Maxima Shirts, with the goal being that all employees meet high performance standards which will in turn help to create the highest quality products to meet and exceed consumer demands. There will be less lead time, and inventory won’t clutter up the work area. This will be an ever-improving endeavor, with some attempts at being lean turning out to be off the mark and so Kaizen events with Gemba sessions where everyone actually goes and sees the printing being done will need to occur periodically, as well as error-proofing based on 5 errors per 1,000. We have a small enough team where everybody can be on board with a specific plan and no communication gaps should occur, and if there’s a problem then it will be identified rather quickly.

Sources of Funds Use of Funds Benefits My company would offer to all employees an HSA PPO health plan with full vision coverage and preventative dental insurance. Paid time off will be granted at the rate of 12 hours per pay period, with there being 10 paid holidays, matching contribution 401(k) plan, contributory life insurance, short-term disability, and educational assistance being offered. These are desirable benefits because health insurance being sponsored by a company, even though it’s a higher deductible plan, is getting rarer as months go by. Also having full coverage vision with preventative dental is a sign that we really care about our employees and their families as people. The short-term disability is included with the printing machine operator in mind, but it’s available to all employees. Matching 401(k) is a key component, as well, to entice potential candidates that have an interest in retirement someday.
