A New York philanthropist and social entrepreneur, James Ferrari worked closely with the Foundation for Community Development and the Synergos Institute to facilitate the construction of homes following heavy flooding in Mozambique in 2001. The next year, he traveled to Namibia for a UNICEF-sponsored workshop on the global status of children without parents and other vulnerable children. A member of the Foreign Policy Association and the Public Policy Institute, James Ferrari continues working with domestic and international organizations on projects related to AIDS, reproductive health, and other social issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
