Regarding :- Activation of VSD unit in the Existing Panel to reduce the SPM.
Dear All,
In the Down hole of the DL-67 Well Currently Raw Oil accumulation is not happening
as satisfactory level, so the Muscat Team wants to reduce the SPM FROM 4 to 3. For solving
this Issue we normally were changing the SPM. We only are having 6, 5 and 4 sizes of Pulleys.
By the way the current DL-67 Well Panel is having built-in VSD system Unit.
I have gone through that VSD system [Make Schneider ] to Check, trouble shoot and activate
to find weather it can help us to reduce the RPM of the Motor.
Checked the whole panel from top to bottom then found the existing Selector
was Out of Order, we replaced with the new Selector switch and In the Back side of the panel for
the VSD Unit Incoming and outgoing Power supply cables are checked connected [R Y B –
Cables] previously it was disconnected. Checked the Control Circuits in all the way finally,
I have De-Isolate the Panel’s Main Breaker, found there was no problem in the Circuit Then I
have Started Pump through VSD Unit, and adjusted frequency on the display as per the
Requirement of SPM. [Stroke per Minute]
Now the Well is running in low speed than the previous, simultaneously the pumping action
reduced form 4 strokes to 3 strokes per minute.SPM
Note: - Since more than 5-years this Pump was running in the By-pass Mode only.
By this mode we can’t adjust the frequency to reduce the Motor’s RPM.
