I enjoy going to Phoenix Arizona because two of my sisters live there. We get together approximately every 4-5 years. There are many things to do while visiting, such as go to the mall let the kids play at Castles and Coasters, or go to Rawhide for a day in the Old West, complete with a ride in the stage coach. The place I really enjoy going to is called “The Organ Stop.” It is a pizza place with an organ that comes up from the floor and its pipes are located in various places throughout the restaurant. The organ player will play any song requested. My favorites are Flight of the Bumble Bee, and Music Box Dancer. I love them! I have not seen a time that the organ player is unable to play a requested song. All of the people who play the organ are amazing. I enjoy doing all of the things I mentioned, but my favorite thing to do is visit with my sisters and their families, and go down memory lane, while creating new memories.
One of my most favorite things to do is to sing. I sing at church every time I am present. My pastor tells me I am anointed (I think he’s just biased), and he asks me to sing every Sunday. I have 2 amateur CDs that a man made for me when I was singing with him and his wife. I cannot make money off of them because none of the songs are my own, but I do enjoy sharing them with others when they ask for one.
I think I enjoy photography almost as much as I love to sing. Capturing that special image to hold close to your heart is just amazing. My daughter and I ventured out a few years ago and opened a small photography business. It only lasted a year or so, but we sure did have a great time while we were “Capturing memories to last a lifetime” (our tag line). We named our business “Remember When Photography.” It was so much fun!
I was introduced to “Adult” coloring from the Kaplan OWLS Club, during one of our charity events. We were collecting adult coloring books and pencils etc. for Veterans who live in VA Centers & hospitals. I found the coloring to be very relaxing and engaging.
When I am not studying, singing, coloring, or playing with my babies, I love to read. Give me a warm fuzzy blanket 2 feet of snow and a good mystery novel, and I am in the happy zone. Life is good.
