To Whom It May Concern:
Reference for Jacek Spakowski
It gives me great pleasure to recommend Jacek Spakowski.
Jacek worked together with me and my team both at Artec Consultants Inc and at Arup on
the construction of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Poland. The project
consisted of a large concert hall and three recital halls as well as a series of associated
public, artist and staff spaces. The main concert hall has 1,822 seats and a full complement
of adjustable acoustic systems including a 23 piece adjustable acoustic canopy system that
covers the entire ceiling of the concert hall, mechanized concrete acoustic control chamber
doors that couple the primary acoustic volume of the concert hall with adjacent acoustical
control volumes, adjustable acoustic banners and acoustic curtains throughout the hall, in
addition to stage lifts, seating wagons, chorus wagons, rigging systems for use over the
concert platform and Production Lighting and Sound and Communications systems. The
three recital halls also contain Theatrical Rigging, Production Lighting and Sound and
Communications systems.
As the acoustical and theatre planning designer for the project, my team and I at Artec
Consultants Inc, a New York based firm which has subsequently been integrated into the
global practice of Arup, worked closely with Jacek throughout the construction process.
Jacek served this project in two different capacities. First, he worked for Mostostal, the
original general contractor, from 2010-2013 to coordinate the work of multiple specialty
trades with the requirements defined by Artec and the rest of the Polish design team.
Second, after Mostostal left the project, Jacek served from 2013-2015 as the representative
to the operator of the facility, the National Forum of Music operations team, to the new
general contractor and the City agency that was responsible for the construction works.

We were very pleased that Jacek was appointed in this role and he proved to be a vital
partner in a very difficult construction process. Frequently, he would provide team with
daily updates on project progress from Wrocław, whereas it was consistently difficult to
maintain effective contact with other members of the project team. His ability to coordinate
and disseminate the required volume of technical information in Polish and English was
invaluable. He proved himself more than able to work professionally within the complex
political landscape of the project, understanding the sensitivity required at times by certain
delicate issues.
I would very much look forward to collaborating on a project with Jacek again and would
recommend him both for his technical knowledge and his ability to manage and coordinate
information.
Sincerely,
Tateo Nakajima
