Demand for office space in Detroit's Skyline district has increased over the last five years, absorbing 1.4 million square feet and reducing the vacancy rate from 26% to under 12% currently. Projections estimate that continued demand growth combined with planned expansions will lower the Skyline vacancy rate to around 8.9% by the end of 2016, surpassing the 10% threshold that often spurs new commercial construction in downtown areas.
